Writer quoted me $50/page for a Master's level paper. Is that fair?

Hey everyone! 💕 I'm kind of new to hiring writers directly (usually I just suffer alone lol), but my best friend recommended I try finding someone here for a big paper I have coming up.

I'm working on my Master's application personal statement and also a writing sample (about 3 pages total, but it has to be perfect). I reached out to a writer who has really good reviews in the forum, and they quoted me $50 per page. 😳

For 3 pages, that's $150. Is that... normal? I don't want to be cheap, especially for something as important as grad school apps, but I also don't want to get ripped off.

The writer says they specialize in Humanities and have helped 20+ people get into grad school. They also said they'd do 2 rounds of revisions for free. That part sounds good.

I guess my question is: What's the "going rate" for high-stakes, non-urgent writing? Am I paying for the name or for actual quality? I'm stressed because I don't want to mess this up, but $150 is like... two weeks of coffee and snacks. ☕🍪

Any advice from people who've done this before? Is $50/page the "real" price for quality?
